Musgrave Retail Partners Deploy Vodat Network

13/10/2011

Musgrave Retail Partners has introduced a broadband-based private network solution from Vodat International.

Musgrave Retail Partners has introduced a broadband-based private network solution from Vodat International, the leading communications solution provider to the retail industry, to improve their day-to-day operations for Budgens and Londis stores.

The requirement was a business class PCI: DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard) compliant network, which could be used for value-added services in the future, such as unified communications, compliance auditing and store equipment monitoring.

Mark Trevorrow, Musgrave Retail Partners GB interim IT director says:  "The introduction of a PCI: DSS compliant network for our Budgens and Londis retail partners will improve security across the business. With more than 2,000 stores this is an important step for the company. The security will help us to control information that is sent across the network and in the long-term, there will also be scope to use this for additional applications."

Musgrave Group bought 13 stores from Co-operative Group and used these sites for the pilot. Roll out to the whole estate is scheduled to be launched in August.

The new private network will be fully managed, which means all issues connected with it will be dealt with by Vodat International and there will be no requirement for Musgrave staff to monitor or resolve network problems.

Mike Bielinski, CEO at Vodat International, said, "Our solution not only meets the group's immediate needs but it will also allow them to adapt to changing requirements in the future. This fully managed network will not only provide a more cost-efficient solution to Musgrave Retail Partners GB's communication requirements but will also deliver the necessary platform that will enable them to introduce other applications such as; EFT processing and CCTV."
